WiRe Bermuda is delighted to announce the appointment of Katie Partington Howarth and Adria Da Breo Richards to its Board of Directors. Both have extensive leadership experience, strategic insight, and a shared commitment to advancing women in the reinsurance industry.
Katie Partington Howarth
Katie brings over 25 years of distinguished local and international experience in the global reinsurance industry and, currently, serves as Chief Capital Officer at Ariel Re in Bermuda. Throughout her career, she has held senior leadership roles across insurance, reinsurance, and brokerage organizations worldwide. Her expertise spans underwriting, capital management, portfolio strategy, and risk solutions, where she has consistently driven innovation and strong performance. In her current role, Katie offers a unique perspective on how capital investment intersects with reinsurance strategy in the global economic landscape.
Katie holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from UCLA and completed executive education through the Wharton Leadership Program, in collaboration with the Bermuda Insurance Institute. She is actively engaged in mentoring and community initiatives, including BFIS and ILS Bermuda College, and serves as executive sponsor of the Ariel Re Charity Committee.

Adria Da Breo Richards
Adria is a respected industry leader with deep expertise in global property catastrophe underwriting. She currently serves as Senior Vice President, Global Head of Property Catastrophe – Assumed Retrocessional and Global Clients at RenaissanceRe in Bermuda. During her tenure, she has held various roles across underwriting, finance and capital management. In her current role, Adria drives strategic, client-focused engagement across RenaissanceRe’s global property cat relationships.
