Hamilton, Bermuda, December 1, 2025 – Ariel Re, a global reinsurance business with
offices in Bermuda, London and Hong Kong, celebrates 20 years in business this
month.
Ariel Re was formed in December 2005 to meet a high demand for natural catastrophe
reinsurance after a capital crunch in the sector following Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and
Wilma.
The company provides reinsurance solutions across Property Catastrophe, Cyber,
Marine & Specialty, and Clean Energy, employing a team of over 100 professionals.
Established as a Class 4 Bermuda reinsurer, the business transitioned to Lloyd’s of
London in 2012. Today, Ariel Re writes $1.5 billion in premium annually, with the
majority of business transacted in Bermuda.

causes across Bermuda and London, reinforcing its commitment to social
responsibility and positive impact.
